3 Point Hydraulic Feed Wood Chipper

I have a B2650 And i am looking for a wood chipper.
It does not need to chip anything bigger than 3".
Stuff bigger than 3" will be burned in the wood stove.
Looking for suggestions on a three point chipper.

Highly recommend hydraulic feed regardless what specific brand/model you get. Having the ability to vary feed speed between sappy stuff such as fresh green pine v hardwood helps quite a bit with eliminating discharge chute clogs while maintaining efficiency. It's also easier on the operator's hands and other upper extremity joints to have the infeed roller taking the shock of the blades hitting the knives v having that transferred through the limb all the way back into the operator's hands.

After about 75 hours (probably 55 with me and 20 with my brother) I've been pleased with the quality of the Woodland Mills WC68 I have. So far, I've had to do nothing other than grease it. Some swear by double infeed rollers. Having run commercial units with double infeed rollers and the Woodland Mills with a single infeed roller, I don't see any real difference but that's just my experience. Both take a little practice to feed something near maximum capacity.

Only other thing, you may not want to chip anything bigger than 3" but if you have something that will chip 5" or 6" you won't have to cut brush up as much to get the crooked parts and sub-branches to feed into the larger opening.

Woodland Mills here too. After some research settled on this one. Not a lot of hours but pleased with it so far, seems very well made

I went cheap…I have a Betstco FH-BX42X manual feed. It's been great and I've fed it up to 4" size limbs without issue. That said, it doesn't like wet stuff so I've experienced a couple clogged shoots but that's expected.

There's a guy on youtube with a B2601 and now (I think) an LX2610 with a WC68. The B2650 can handle it, hp wise. My B2601 loafs along with the WC46 like the JD 2025R did before it. If you have some rather steep hills like I have down to the creek, you'll notice even the 510 # WC46 back there. You'd need plenty of front end weight or the FEL on to handle the WC68 on hills.

Could trailer the chipper but the trails get squishy this time of year and the extra front wheel traction really helps.

I can put the chipper on the 3-point and then maneuver the trailer with a pallet fork that has a 1" hole for a hitch ball near its end. Can pull beside the dumper trailer and the chips pile right in. Then replace the chipper (and leave it in the bush) with the trailer receiver to pull the yard or 2 of chips home to dump.

If you look at my first pic in post #4 here the hitch ball can be seen at the tip of the fork on the right.

I recently bought a WC-68 and from the few times I've run it there have been no issues. If you go that way, MJa doing stuff on you tube did a great video of assembly. There were some good tips/tricks he did to make it easier. I followed along with that and the manual and all went real well.

60" x 96" x 18" box.
Battery powered pump dual acting hydraulic lift w/charger/meter. It can handle lifting a full load (gvw-wise) of sand when fully charged and warm.
3-way gate - open at center and swing fully forward and lock in place for dumping, pivot top adjustable bottom opening for spreading, and standard tailgate with pivot at the bottom.
A photo brand new:

PS: 6 years later it's rusting to death, over 50% of that powder coat has peeled off or will shortly.
It's now rust brown. I hope Load Trail's powder coat quality has improved.

It probably doesn't work for all scenarios but if you want to pull a trailer and use the chipper they do make a trailer hitch for the back of the chipper. I don't have one.

Another WC68 owner here. Attached to my LX2610 I've chipped some pretty large hardwoods, up to 5" and this thing still rocks on. Cool part is you can control the infeed roller speed to help out on the large stuff. I think you're B2650 is the predecessor to the LX2610?

B2650 became the LX2610, with a few minor changes, but the same machine, yes.

It probably doesn't work for all scenarios but if you want to pull a trailer and use the chipper they do make a trailer hitch for the back of the chipper. I don't have one.

That's a useful add-on, but with the chipper on the 3-point being about 850 lbs wet, and hanings back of the machine a fair bit which increases the load on the 3-point, my CUT would be quickly overloaded with adding a trailer to tow behind it.
That setup would not allow me to safely tow my 5x8 5k dumper. Empty.
On a larger tractor I prob would have added the hitch, though!

If you get a WM chipper, if you do not have a low rise floor jack, get one. That is the best way to raise the input roller when you get a jam. I take it in the FEL now along with a chain saw for trimming when going downhill with it.

I recently bought a woodmaxx MX-8600. Have put 2-3 hours on it so far and have been very happy with it. Takes up to 6" branches, minimum horsepower of 15 and weighs around 600 lbs. Also has hydraulic feed.

The ONLY way to 'stop the rusting' , is to remove 100% of the *(*&%#$^& powdercoat 'paint'. probably the worst 'paint' invented. Unless 100% of it is removed(no 'fun' task', water(moisture) migrates under the paint and attacks the steel. A true no win scenario. In 5 decades I've never seen anything powder coated actually NOT rust once it gets a chip, ding,cut, slice. i do like the trailer though ! Thinking of trading my 6x10 tandem for one like yours.

I wondered about a hitch on the chipper but front end of tractor would be a 'tad light' !!
